A Fun-Filled Birthday

A little over a week ago, we celebrated my birthday. Nate really made it a special day for me! He made an oatmeal cake for me the night before (my requested birthday cake, and one of my favorites). That morning, he left me donuts at work while I was at a meeting. I was pretty excited because I love donuts, and he had brought me two of my favorites: a lemon filled and a custard filled with chocolate frosting. Apparently, Nate had also bought himself one too. Because I was not immediately hungry when I discovered the donuts, I did not eat them right away. Nate therefore ate his first, and consequently warned me beforehand that the donuts were more filled than normal. That turned out to be quite true. The donuts were the most filled I haveever seen in my whole life! They consisted of a thin outer shell of donut that was bursting with filling inside. There was far more filling than donut. It was too much really. We cut the lemon one open after I got home. Here is what it looked like inside:

Nate, being the wonderful husband he is, did other wonderful things for me on my birthday as well. He had a vase of beautiful flowers waiting for me on the table when I arrived home, and he had a special delicious dinner cooking in the crock pot for us to eat. We had a fun little party with some friends after dinner, ate cake and ice cream, talked, and played a game. What more could I have wanted?

And for those of you who are curious, the donuts came from Macey's in Provo. So, if you go there to get filled donuts, you might want to check to see how heavy they are and how much filling they have inside them.
