Memorial Day Hike

A couple weeks ago, Nate and I purchased a child carrier backpack for hiking purposes. We were fortunate to find a pretty good one for a good price on the KSL classifieds. We had our first opportunity to try it out on Memorial Day hiking up Taylor Canyon.

The trail was mostly shaded and followed the creek for most of the way. The climb wasn't difficult and the trail was pretty short, so it was perfect for a quick hike with Austin in tow. Austin seemed to enjoy himself, and was even able to eat Cheerios and drink apple juice while riding.

Austin also took a short nap. After all, hiking can make you tired!

Mount Ogden

We really liked that this backpack came with the cover. We were thinking this would be great for keeping a lot of sun off Austin, and would help if we were ever stuck in the rain as well. Turns out it is also helpful for preventing branches from smacking into a baby's face too. It is not perfect for this, but it helps.

We are looking forward to many more family hikes this summer using the backpack.

I bet Austin will grow up loving the outdoors as much as you! Way to start him early!
