Father's Day

We celebrated Father's Day twice this year. On Father's Day we stayed home and celebrated with just the three of us. I made a nice BBQ chicken dinner for Nate and a cherry pie with pie cherries from our tree for dessert. Austin made a special card and bought him a bag of candy with his own money. Here is Nate reading the card from Austin:


The first page Nate is reading in the video was a page full of options that Austin could check if he thought they applied to his dad. The second page shown in the video had a lot of blanks in it for him to write his own responses, as well as a few places for him to draw pictures of his dad. He came up with the answers to the blanks himself.



Austin made a similar card for his grandpa, which was also appreciated when we had another Father's Day celebration with my family a week ago. We had another nice dinner on that occasion, for which I made a raspberry pie using our garden raspberries for dessert.
