Bear Lake

Nate's sister rented a cabin at Bear Lake during July and invited us to join them for a night. So, on the thirteenth, we packed up and drove up to join them. The kids had fun playing at the cool cabin that afternoon with their cousins. Meanwhile, I tried to get some rest. Then we ordered a couple very large pizzas...one of which was as wide as the picnic table, and ate dinner.

After dinner we went horseback riding. My favorite! Everyone seemed to enjoy it though. The kids helped brush and saddle the horses and got to try feeding them treats.

Then it was time to ride. Our family of four shared two horses...but ultimately, Nate let me ride one of them the whole time while he, Austin, and Emma took turns on the other horse. My horse was difficult to steer. I still really enjoyed it all!

There were lots of other animals at the farm too, which Emma particularly enjoyed.

The next morning after breakfast we headed out to the beach. It was just our family there that morning, but we had fun playing in the sand and water. Austin loved kicking up sand in the water, Emma loved collecting the tiny snail shells in the sand, and Nate and I played frisbee and skipped rocks.

Then we returned to the cabin for some lunch and to pack up our stuff.

Finally we headed out. But we stopped to do a short easy hike along the Riverside Nature Trail on our way home.
