October Festivities

October seems to always be full of fun activities. We went to the Scarecrow Festival with my family again this year...at least everyone but Nate went, since he had to work.

We thought Farmer Brown would like some company...he looked
like he could really use some

Nothing like a tumble in the hay for a couple energetic kids

Then of course there was the usual baking and decorating of cookies...and sharing them with all the neighbors. Austin and Emma definitely love getting creative in decorating their own.

Emma's cookies on the left, Austin's on the right

This year for Halloween, Austin was Batman again, Emma choose to be Hermione, and Nate and I dressed as a wizard and witch. We got to celebrate multiple times between a ward party, a family party, and Halloween night itself.

This year the kids each carved a jack-o-lantern with one of their aunts at the family party, and Nate and I carved Frankenstein out of a green pumpkin from our garden that didn't quite finish ripening.

Austin helped carve the jack-o-lantern on the left; Emma helped carve the
one on the far right. Nate and I worked on the two in the middle.

Everyone at the family party seemed to have really great costumes this year! Or other fun Halloween themed clothing, as the case might be.
