Artist's Statement(if you can actually call me that while keeping a straight face):
As you can see, Rebecca was my inspiration for both sides of my egg. The first is a copy of her "Devils Garden" oil painting of Arches National Park. I'll call my "repl-egg-a" the "Deviled eggs Garden". The second side of my egg is a portrait of Rebecca. Even though she tried consoling me by pointing out that it was the very first time I had ever tried painting a portrait, I still felt incredibly embarrassed by the final result. Seeing how impossible it was for me to not make the mouth HUGE gave me much more appreciation for the intricate details on her eggs.

I have to say Nate I think you did a great job painting Rebecca. Although her mouth isn't really that big, she does have a great smile, so you are just accentuating one of her best features!

Geez. That's all I have to say. I can still picture that pencil sketch of the bindery clock that you did that one day when you were still an animal sciences major. :)

You could sell that egg in a souvenir shop, for say, $10 or so. I don't know what it would be a souvenir for though, maybe the Kentucky Derby?
I love the eggs. I knew Rebecca was an incredible artist but I didn't know Nate was too. Nice job.
