When we came back to the parking lot, we saw a mountain blue bird perched on the rear view mirror of a truck. For some unknown reason, the bird kept trying to fly into the truck through the passenger window. The window was up, so it hit the glass and flew back to perch on the mirror. It kept doing this over and over again.
This last weekend we took Austin hiking up Davis Creek to the first waterfall. We tried to do this hike last fall, but we went up the wrong trail. This hike turned out to be much steeper than I thought it would be, but Austin did a pretty good job all the same. He managed to climb up to the waterfall and back down with a little balancing help from us, at least when he wasn't busy pointing out every single rolly polly bug or beetle along the way...
