Our lives around the time of our anniversary this year were pretty crazy. We were busy contemplating whether or not adopting a seven year old girl was right for our family, and Nate was gone on a business trip the week before and after the day of our anniversary.
Consequently, we decided to keep things simple. We were going to go on a longer hike together, but we opted for a shorter one up Hogg Canyon that we could take Austin with us on. Still, since we had a hard time finding the actual trail, our short hike took much longer than planned. Instead of the two miles we had planned on, we hiked 3.4 miles total. It was a beautiful day though, and we very much enjoyed our time.
There were a couple natural springs along the trail and some waterfalls. Only one place let us get much of a view of the waterfall below though; the rest were obscured by trees.
That evening we went to a dinner and a movie together without Austin.
The traditional gift for eleventh anniversaries is steel, so I gave Nate a mini steel Leatherman (his last one got lost) and a couple steel pens. His card read "After All This Time...I Steel Love You."
